5-ingredients chocolate cake

This is one of our favorite chocolate cake recipe because it’s quick & easy and it’s only 5 ingredients. No icing, no filling. We love that it’s so simple to make from scratch and still incredibly delicious. It’s for all the moms who want to bake a cake for the kid’s birthday party with only one hour to do so, the students who has nothing but a tiny kitchen and a single mould to cook and bake, the kids who want to do something fun and get messy with chocolate… In fact, it really is for all amateur bakers who’re willing to fall for a simple pleasure.

The 5-ingredients chocolate cake

Ingredients (6-8 servings):

  • 200g dark chocolate 100%
  • 200g salted butter
  • 180g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 75g wheat flour

For a 9 inch/23 cm round cake pan

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350F/180C.

Grease and flour the cake pan, or simply line it with parchment paper.

Melt the salted butter. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the chocolate. Melt the chocolate (yes, microwave is ok if you’re going slowly by 30 seconds interval, stiring it between each interval until it’s all melted). Add the melted chocolate to the dough and mix.

Pour the dough on the cake pan. Cook for 30-35 minutes. Don’t worry if the cake looks uncook at the center, it will set at room temperature.

Let the cake cool for at least 30 minutes before removing the cake from the mould. To remove the cake safely from the mold, place a plate over the top of the cake and invert it. Lift the cake pan off. Then, place another plate over the top and invert it again so the right side of the cake is up.

This is my new favourite Chocolate Cake recipe. Super easy, super yummy… and I’ve used GF flour to great results.
